SINISTER MONSTER DOOM LEGION pt.17
Behold…BEHEMOTH! Bet you wish you coulda’ got one of these for Christmas!
While this storyline is far from being over, I figured now is as good of a time as any for some reflection (…see, because the new year is coming up). 2010 has really been a wonderful year for SCAPULA, and I’d like to think that there’s been some improvement since the year began (check out the first page of Dadaman for yourselves). Just as importantly, however, are all of the great new readers who have been following the series and leaving those comments (and buying the books).
Seriously, a great, big, Throgor-sized THANK YOU to all of you for reading these comics. Creating and sharing my work has been a wonderful experience so far and I’m really looking forward to having you all along for 2011’s stories. Even after two years, SCAPULA has really only just begun.
I hope you’ll all tune in next Sunday, next year, for the continuing chaos! Happy New Year, silly people!
I love that you used Job, It is one of my favorite books in the Bible. I am so glad that I started reading Scapula, you are wonder in storytelling and visual presentation. When I get some extra money, it being Christmas time and all, I am definitely picking up some books, yours being one of them.
Oh, the horror! A giant mechanical dinosaur! Now what we need is a giant mechanical King Kong to kick his patootie!
Yah… I am so glad our paths have crossed this year… !
That’s a crazy awesome drawing, Aidan! The suspense just keeps building around here.
Awww, shucks … he’s just … a … little guy. 🙂
Thats pretty much the visual I have when the in-laws come parading through my house for the holidays! o.O Happy New Year!
Hey, gang of loyal readers! Sorry I’m responding to everyone’s comments so late…I just spent the day on a bus going down the state and words cannot describe my mood (well…actually, there ARE a few words I can think of, but I’ll spare your tender hearts!).
@Roland “Get a Job, sha-na-na-na, sha-na-na-na-na, Get a Job…”
Never mind.
The book of Job has some astounding moments, but what I really love it for is (what else?) the monsters. I suppose it might have been more in character for Darkevilhelldeath-Man to draw inspiration from the Book of Revelations instead, but those beasties are all too difficult to construct as robots (how many heads does a monster really need?!).
@Squidrowmommy Kick patootie? Bless my soul! I really love that…I’m making yet ANOTHER song reference. My brain is so rattled from the bus trip.
Anyone want to guess how many times I’ve watched “King Kong” in my life? And I mean the original, TRUE Kong, not the Peter Jackass version…
@George Thanks, man! Truth be told, it came out of my sketchbook, but the drawing had more “raw power” than some of the refined, inked versions I did. Sometimes you get it on the first try.
@SpilledInky Really? Umm…CTRL + a few times. Increase the comic size so it fills up your screen!
@jynksie HA! Oh, Scott…’you marry the whole family’, huh?
Keep leaving those comments, people!
I’m with George, great job with the art on this one.
@Dan Thanks a bunch, man! Hope you had a Happy New Year, and that no robot monsters stepped on your home.
AWESOME MONSTER IS AWESOME! (no, not a pickup line at a bar lol…)
So, i’m guessing it’s steam-powered?
Also, the sketchy lines are a good visual trick to suggest motion and chaos!
@spearr Thank you kindly, sir! I don’t think my robots match the quality of the ones I’ve seen you draw, but in any case steam-powered brontosauri are a lot of fun to draw. Chaos!
Dude…. I think I just filled the cup.
