I’ve always loved the Penguin’s contradictions: a grotesque freak who yearns for class and high society. A man who has both known and inflicted great pain. An underestimated enemy whose brilliance and cruelty could make him the greatest foe of all. Or maybe it’s the cool umbrellas.

But is that the Burgess Meredith one or the Danny Devito one?
My take on him is mostly a combination of the Danny DeVito role and the Batman:TAS version.
I love this villain. Good memories. It was the true hero of story, stupid batman.
One of these days there’s going to be a story where the Penguin shoves his umbrella right up Batman’s…uh, nose.
