Run like rabbits! And I don’t even want to think about Mona’s doubts with Auntie’s mental health when she tells Mona what’s going on? “Seriously, Auntie? Last time it was Smoky and the Bandits, and now this?”
If she didn’t believe Auntie’s claims that there were gremlins, communists, and Amelia Earhart hiding in the living room, then I guess the supervillains might be safe!
Why do I get the worst feeling about what’s actually in the attic of a house that holds:
– A maniacal granny whose version of sanity is feline defenestration.
– A near suicidal and permanently depressed villain with a history of having terrible luck
– A criminal psychologist who wants nothing more than a complete ‘cleansing’ of all those who do not obey the law
Auntie and Bombastar definitely make this household a pit of madness, but thankfully Dr. Jearuakov (the criminal psychologist) doesn’t live here…but who knows? Maybe there will be a plot twist when the entire Coven comes over for a slumber party!
The yelling between Hypnausea and Scap in the second panel reminds me of the scene in “Friends” when Ross, Rachel and Chandler were trying to move a new couch up the stairs.
Back in the 90’s most TV viewers fell into one of two categories: Friends fans and Frasier fans. I was in the latter group, so I never saw Ross and Chandler’s shenanigans.
I’ll take your word for it that the scene was funny (but it might have been more so if Chandler was wearing a skeleton costume).
It depends, but for the most part coloring seems to eat up more time. The “old” Sundays especially, which relied perhaps far too heavily on digital painting, used to eat up almost entire days, but thankfully I’ve gotten better at not spending too much time on less important aspects of the comic…like writing the poopoo jokes.
Drawing takes time, of course, but thankfully I haven’t fallen into a common webcomic trap of reusing character vector art for the panels. Some very successful comics do it, but it would kill SCAPULA without a doubt.
Who knows? If the place is REALLY big maybe they can just live there without seeing anyone for days (I think they did that in an old issue of Love & Rockets).

Good plan guys. Tactical retreat while the cat picks itself out of the rosebush.
I’m picturing the poor cat right know, muttering its last words, “Rosebush…”.

Ross: Pivot. Pivot! PIVOT! PIIIVOOOT! PIVOOO-
Chandler: SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UUUUUP!

Taken out of context, you would think Scapula was dancing in that second panel …
Anyone want to turn that pic into a dancing GIF?
What usually takes more time to do with your comics? Colouring or drawing?

The dialogue and action in the middle panel are just about perfect.
I think my best writing happens when I don’t use more than one or two words. Plus running away is always funny!
It looks like a pretty large house. Maybe they CAN duck and hide out in the attic for awhile.
But something tells me you’re not gonna take it so easy on the crew. 🙂
