Is his eyeballs scratched?! is his freaking eyeballs scratched up?! DAMN! …. I really hope Scap don’t goes blind from this.. also, holy smoked balls he looks terrifying in that second panel..
I’ve met a real life Nazz and they do not read other people well. She really would be genuinely surprised by Scapula’s reaction. Tazz’s character is interesting for being female. Most that I have met tend to be male. Think gang members with facial tattoos. The women are less common, generally less flashy but can be just as murderous. By way of context I worked in forensic mental health. Your characterizations tend to be really well done.
Thankya kindly for your words. It’s funny, but you do bring up a certain point in the comic: gender differences have rarely had any impact on how I write characters. Nazz or Bone China would probably have been written with the exact same personality even if they were male characters, and it’s also likely that Scapula would still be pretty much the same even if the character had been a woman (of course, an ‘alternate universe’ with a female Scapula could make for some interesting fan-art/fiction).
I’m not saying there aren’t any personality differences between men and women, but I’ve never really factored them in when creating the cast of this comic. As far as I’m concerned BOTH genders are crazy!
Damn! A female Scapula ? With boobs ? The same personality ? The same untrained physique ?
Nah, I think people would have too much mercy on a female version. Zeitgeist dictates it is more fun to stomp on a male loser.
Oh geez. This is what happens when you don’t clearly communicate to your violently disturbed underlings what your goals are. It’s way too much to ask them to understand anything like emotions, nuance, or nonverbal cues. One does not ask a trained attack dog to consider the delicate politics of a situation, especially when it starts to go rabid!
And then there’s Scapula in the last panel. It’s finally happened….. there is a genuinely disturbing image of him for me to enjoy now! Good job!
Maybe blame it on the troops’ education? After all, they were trained by the Miscreants, and that trio of troublemakers aren’t exactly known for their attention to detail (or general competence).
Here I thought I had done a lot of disturbing images of Scapula. Is today’s pic more skin-crawling than this one? Or this?
Those are certainly ‘What the heck am I LOOKING at!?’ given his plastic face. But this? This I know exactly what I’m looking at. And I don’t like looking at it because that’s the face of someone who now has gone spiralling off the cliffs of insanity and rage.
I would be surprised if he DIDN’T snap her neck with his bare hands by next Sunday’s comic.
But who knows? Maybe there’s a chance she survived.
“He’s not dead! He’s getting better!….oh, he died!”
My fellow geeks will get the reference.
Is his eyeballs scratched?! is his freaking eyeballs scratched up?! DAMN! …. I really hope Scap don’t goes blind from this.. also, holy smoked balls he looks terrifying in that second panel..
Could be worse; he could have gotten the Un Chien Andalou treatment.
If you don’t get that reference, do yourself a favor: DON’T do an image search for it on-line. You have been warned.
That. That is it, right there. The one you pick if you wanted to tattoo Scapula somewhere on your body.
…not over your scapula, though. That’s a little too on the nose. Or below and to the side of it, perhaps.
It’s certainly better than a lot of other images of Scapula, unless if you want a picture of him with his pants pulled down etched into your tender bod!
