One of my favorite things about the new comics is the over-the-top ‘monster movie’ crimes, an homage to both a vast array of beloved horror films and one of my favorite supervillains, Spider-Man’s foe Mysterio. While not all of the new schemes are been particularly brilliant (namely today’s “Plan G”…that “G” stands for “ghost” if you didn’t figure that out), they have still opened the doors for a lot of new ludicrous stories and surreal moments.
What will be the next dastardly plan? Robbing a bank in Robot Monster costumes?
Well… I had some reservations about how “trained” these new Halloween gangsters were, but if they’re willing to mercilessly gun down a big group of people… I guess they’re up to snuff.
I don’t think it took a lot of persuasion on Scapula’s part to get these kids to mow down anyone in their path. Kids these days…bah!
Nice one!
I like plan G now! It’s just a little too bad the average urban ganger seems to be so jaded they have no reaction to the supernatural. On the other hand, ‘Edgar Allan Po Po’ is now something I will occasionally think about and chuckle! So, guessing that this lot will have a new appreciation for the effort guys like Mysterio actually go through, huh?
Incidentally, herding dumb animals into a deathtrap is a tried and true manouver. They nearly wiped out the buffalo with it. Sometimes the classics are the best!
Sooner or later some douche is going to swipe “Edgar Allan Po-Po” and slap it on a shirt design for T-Fury, so make your own while you can!
I would not mess with buffalo, if indeed you are referring to actual buffalo (the African cape variety). They are extremely dangerous, even if you’re armed. They might even be considered evil, meaning that if you ever ground a dead one into beef you would have an EVIL BURGER!
I was thinking the north american plains variety. Merciless when provoked….. and sooooo tasty. I’ve eaten me plenty of evil burgers! And they are extra eviliscious!
Ohhhh, BISON. Yeah, bison burgers are tasty (especially at Fuddrucker’s).
Yes, the more scientific term is bison, but buffalo is a commonly accepted term, otherwise how would Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo ?
Their scientific name is Bison bison, meaning that some taxonomist, when challenged to come up with a genus and species name for this particular critter, just procrastinated until a minute before the deadline and blurted it out.
Scientists…pfah!
Apparently MST-3000 participated in the slaughter.
Oh wow, I completely missed Crow T. Robot in the silhouettes! Eagle eye you have there, Gabe.
Mike, Crow, and Servo have popped up in this comic before, although the last time they weren’t participating in anything quite so murderous (only partially murderous).
Is this… the Return of Timmy?!
“Dun-dun-DUNNNN!”
Shut up, Hypnausea.
“Hmph.”
I’m really surprised that Timmy (aka the Black Crow) never appeared in more than one episode. I guess it’s just as well; dark versions of characters often have a habit of overstaying their welcome (Venom, anyone?), which is probably why I killed off Scapula’s ‘evil twin’ so early.
Probably a good thing. Plus he was way too eloquent for this kind of comic. I can only imagine what a headache he must have been to draw, too…… or are you just warped enough to make that a nonissue?
I have a hard enough time drawing anybody! Some artists just have masterpieces flow from their pens, while others screw up several million times before getting one drawing to look right. Guess which category I fall into!
“Edgar Allen Po-Po” made the entire strip.
I was worried that that line was too stupid to use. I have since learned that absolutely nothing is too stupid for this comic.
Is it just me or is Scap getting just a little too successful? Well, hopefully in the end the vengeful spirit of loserdom is going to catch up and bite ol’ Edgar in the rear in the worst way yet. Build him up to knock him down and all that.
Love the artwork!
If I had included an extra panel where Scapula finds a dollar on the ground, THAT would have been going too far in the ‘good luck’ department. I mean, c’mon! Why not molly-coddle him for the rest of the series?!
Because you’re a sadistic, evil, and unloving god-figure in the Scapula mythos?
Or because hurting ol’ bonehead is funny, either or.
There we go! That’s classic Scapula comic action! Love the low rider pants and the “cop” and “weenie” lines! Nice!
“Cops are weenies” was an actual slogan from Frumpy the Clown…does anyone else remember Frumpy? Anyone?
That was ingenious! As a ghetto-card-carrying member, I will admit that, although we are not in any way affected or frightened by poltergeists, ghouls, or UFO’s, we will run away like big-boobed, helpless, half-nekkid white women if there is a chance-encountering with any branch of “one-time”. Po-po ain’t nuthin’ to eff wit’.
Waaaaitaminnit….George, that’s not a ghetto card! It’s a Ralphs card with “Ralphs” crossed out and “Ghetto” written in Crayola marker!
Big boobed, helpless, half-nekkid white women…maybe I should have put some in today’s comic. Hell, maybe I should have put some in EVERY COMIC! YES!
Agreed. Very much agreed. I absolutely support this addition to the comic. I vote yes. Absolutely do want. But that’s no surprise by now, is it?
And, by the way, you gotta be butt-@$$ naked in order to be allowed to break down and/or bag up. These ain’t sticky-note office supplies. Nobody’s taking this product outta the office.
Um, that’s what I’ve heard, at least…
I never knew that; most of what I’ve learned about this subject is from television and movies, and I guess they leave that detail out (well, depending on the rating of the show/movie). I think a lot of work environments wouldn’t be very productive if you could see your co-workers in the buff, but maybe that depends on who you’re working with.
Edgar Allen Po Po is hilarious
Thankya, thankya, thankya.
Oh man, you have GOT to let me write a small heist storyline now…..
The Great Stick of Gum Robbery.
If you notice throughout most of this comic, the “brown” people die. I would have loved to see Scaps gang gun down a bunch of white kids. How un-original and oh so hollyweird.
There’s only been one “Brown” person in this comic, and he wasn’t killed off (but he wasn’t very happy, either).
Oh I get it. This is your tribute to the “stand you ground Law”. Maybe this is a wh…Florida thing and I wouldn’t understand. Let’s see, brown skin….or (black or STOLEN so that you can relate)check. Saggy pants (check) Rap Music (check). Annie go git yer gun ! Just in time for Black History Month ! We are on the same page my friend. You are a treasure to the human race. You got any plans to wipe out an American…Native village next.
It is August 2016. I have come back to this page because “Edgar Allan Po-Po” is just that funny.
Welcome back, Gorram Batguy! It really is flattering to know that a one-off stoopud joke of mine can not only get a laugh but make people think of it years later!
