This scenario might sound familiar if you’ve seen a certain Alec Guinness movie. The rest of you will have to find out on Sunday what Scap has got in mind!

Wow man, it’ really great to see where your new character design is going!
The new arc, slow as it is at the moment, developes promissing. Let’s see if Scap can keep his new darkishness of doomigkeit up. I’m waiting each strip for him to screw up roally…
Happy to hear you’re enjoying the artwork! And if the story is taking its sweet time, don’t worry; there’s going to be a few surprises coming up soon.
Alas and alack, I cannot find a translation for “doomigkeit”, but I’m going to walk around today saying it to everyone. Maybe they’ll be impressed, or maybe they’ll just look at me like I’m crazy. Who knows?
That would be some kind of denglish or germlish or englitsch or whatever… but I think it befits Scap just right.
Is that face in the last panel meant to be some kind of reference? Because it looks familiar. Hmm…ooh! Got it! My half-cousin Ivan!
Man, that Ivan is one devious character, ain’t he?
Scapula’s face in the last panel is emulating Alec Guinness; I’m sure some film snob reader will recognize the movie reference but if that doesn’t happen you’ll get the answer on Sunday. I don’t want to give away anything just yet.
Someone called for a film snob?
The Ladykillers from 1955.
All right! SOMEBODY got it!
That old lady must be very tough. That’s how she got to be an old lady. Killing her may prove trickier than Scapula assumes.
Alec Guinness, isn’t that some kind of lager or beer or something?
Alec….Guinness…oh, I get it! Hee hee. Man, now I want a Guinness. Damned subliminal advertising always gets to me.
As for Aunt September, if she raised a demon like Mona, one can only assume that’s where the younger girl got her edge from!
Killing old women is a lot easier than deodorising.
The motto most overheard in the staff rooms of nursing homes…
That is a cruel and heartless thing to say… so why am I giggling?
That’s what happens when you’ve been reading SCAPULA: terribly awful badness starts to become amusing!
Anyone remember ‘Throw Momma From the Train’? Yeah this is gonna go just that well.
Depends on whether or not Danny DeVito is involved (hey, he would make a pretty fitting addition to this group).
How sinister. And sadly enough, I’m down with the program. That old lady’s off her rocker!
Maybe they’re just putting her out of her misery…or just saving future cats from defenestration at her gnarled hands!
They could kill the old lady, oooooor… They could capture Mona in her sleep, make her contact her friends by phone to come pick at a designated place, kill her before the convent-nant arrives, and set up and ambush with guns and bombs.
…..
Or they could arrange the marriage between the old lady and a certain hunchbacked, sewer-dwelling, man-flayer. Let’s see Mona trying to lay a finger on the gang with auntie as the wife of one of it’s members.
Man, the look on Mona’s face if she were to witness Babirus and Aunt September standing at the altar would be MAGNIFICENT. I think time itself would just freeze, forever capturing that brief moment of shock and horror.
That, plus the further possibilities of having Babirus being able to boss around Mona (and Bombastar) would make that a hilarious “What If?” scenario!
Of course time would be to capture the moment, it’s a webcomic! By the way, where does that guy’s name come from? And what happened to the rest of his crazy family?
And no! No “what if”, make it canon! No, even better: Make it real! Make it REAAAAAL!!
The look on MY face wouldn’t exactly be one of unutterable delight, either…
Must not… think of… wedding night…. AAAAAGH!
All in all, that last panel has me in stitches. Every time I look at it I burst out laughing. Great job hun!
And thanks to Abel Undercity for tagging the film name, that was gonna bug me until I figured it out….. or drank enough to pickle a hippo. Care to guess which wold have come first?
Apologies if drinking until hippo-pickledness was considered the up side of the matter. 😉
S’okay hun. I did it anyways! Woo! Happy something-day!
Good to know all of you wacky readers can keep each other amused while I’m away! Sheesh, I’m gonna have to hire a babysitter to run this site…
Aw, we missed you too hun! See? We can play nice for a while.
Ooooh! ♥
The word “Ladykillers” appeared in my mind as soon as I saw Scap’s face on the last panel (those teeth!).
And then, when I read your comments I was like: YAY!
This is one of my favourite movies, thanks a lot for the “cameo”!
I can totally picture the whole gang playing in a music band 🙂
Great! It’s always a delight when people remember classic movies (instead of their terrible remakes), and it looks like you got it.
Now, if Scap is Alec Guinnes, which one is Peter Sellers?
Well, Bombastar’s got the nice clean grin of a british gent……
Lady Jenn is right ^^
And Babirus seems to play the part of Danny Green a.k.a “One-Round”.
But I’m quite clueless about the others…
(And yes, the remake was awful… some movies should remain untouched)
“Wha’s wrong wif muscle?”
I did like One-Round a lot; he was so much more than just the “strong stupid guy”. The remake’s take on that character was the football player whose brain damage is so severe that he couldn’t possible be of any real use (and he spoke in a really annoying voice). Ugh.
Perish the thought!
SOMEONE might end up perishing!
