It’s too bad the month-long break in July only applies to OUR time-frame. These stressed supervillains could sure use a summer vacation!

Oh man, a whole month without our fave skull-faced anti-hero and his merry band of pranksters. Now I’m glad I’ll be spending the month searching for King Solomons Cotton Candy Mines with Indiana Jones, Zelda, Lara Croft and Brian Williams. See ya in August, dude.
The only thing I’ll be searching for in July is a gigantic A/C system and air-purifier big enough to cleanse the roasting smog that cooks Los Angeles. I’ll take Lara Croft over sunburns and emphysema any day.
We still have a couple of more days to go, so don’t run off just yet!
Scap looks like he’s becoming more and more unhinged… Is it just me or is the silhouette of his hand in panel 2 really reminiscent of a certain sock puppet?
Nice observation!…and for those of you newbies wondering what the hell the sock puppet reference means, jump aaall the way back to the first SINISTER MONSTER DOOM LEGION story arc.
I like how you’ve drawn these panels. Nice use of grey and gradient. Smiles.
Thankya! I do tend to cheat with tone rather than doing pure B&W. I have yet to match my inking skills to those of Jaime Hernandez (but then again, very few comic artists have!).
I think Scap might vibrate into an explosion before the gang gets to him.
Too much coffee will do that to ya. Hell, I almost blew up like a penguin on the telly while I was working away on these comics!
Scap ain’t looking so good!
“Y-ou-ou know why you shake like that? V-v-vitamin deficiency, I’ll bet.” –Calvin, after a third bowl of Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs
Scap’s Master Plan revealed: he was going to collect enough Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs Proof-of-Purchase seals to send away for a beanie.
Of course, the plan is screwed if the beanie doesn’t actually make you fly, but life wouldn’t be that cruel. Right?
For more info on how much obsessed I am over C&H, check out the blog article on my ten favorite comic strips.
“C&H” is Calvin and Hobbes, not ‘coke and heroin’. That’s a different obsession.
Wow! I wouldn’t have expected C&H to be among your biggest influences. You have good taste.
Any chance Dr. Caliban will EVER learn to shut his mouth? Or is that on the list of things less likely to happen than ‘Scap gives up caffeine and paranoia’?
There are so many people in this world who need to learn to shut their mouths; I’m not optimistic about any of them learning this lesson (Dr. Caliban included).
