THE JEMINI KILLER pt.8
How’s THAT for a weird development? We’ve got one last loose end to tie up, so be here next week for a special double-sized update of SCAPULA!
…but now, allow me a brief ramble (don’t worry, you can always skip this). Christmas is in a couple of days, and that always gets me feeling very grateful for everything that I have. Believe it or blow it off, but I am thankful for everything that’s gone on with this weird comic over the years and all of the even weirder people I’ve gotten to know over the internet. Everyone out there who has taken their time to read my comics and comment on them has given me so much back in return (and, of course, an even bigger thanks to those of you who have spent your pennies on the merchandise and art in the Store section!), so I’d like to share my heartfelt thanks with all of you.
Thank you to all of my readers, the ones who return week after week and leave your kind feedback (or snippy sarcasm, which is also fun to read) and share your stories and amusing anecdotes. Thank you for your comments, compliments, critiques and criticisms (and especially those of you who have really worked hard on giving me your feedback, namely Trevor and his brilliant essays on the cast of SCAPULA). Thank you to my fellow webcartoonists who have always shown your support to a fellow wacko artist on the web and shared those links and guest strips. And finally, thank you to the trolls who are never quite pleased and yet keep coming back to show your attention…I am truly honored.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good dose of rum-and-eggnog!
Merry Christmas to you too, Aidan! I like the multiple Jeminis. Uhhh….do you mind if I borrow about two of ’em for, say, 20 minutes? Please? I’ll give you my autograph. 😀
Thanks, George, and a Merry Christmas to you, the wife and kids, and that yellow-haired brat!
You can take as many Jeminis as you want, but you’re gonna have to explain it to your significant other (“Uh…they were lost, so I thought I’d help them find a place to stop and rest and maybe take of their clothes for a while?”).
The glances across the room in the last panel are thought provoking. Of course, it may just be me inferring things. As an artist I’m sure you are used to people reading meanings into your work that you never even thought of. Merry Christmas and good health. Your work and humor are a pleasure to read. 🙂
What would any one of us think in a room full of ourself? It’s certainly open to a lot of interpretation for now, but eventually we’ll see what Jemini has in mind…all of her minds!
A very Merry Christmas to you, too, and thank you for reading my weird crap every week! It’s honestly very much appreciated.
Merry Christmas and all the best in the New Year to you, too Aidan!
I just had to share your “Nat King Kong” on my Facebook page last night. I haven’t been over to Failbook this morning yet, to see if anyone has commented. I thought it was amusing and entertaining, and Nat King Cole’s recording of “Oh Holy Night” is one of the best out there.
Once I got over to Youtube to get the link to share, I noticed your other animations, and enjoyed those as well. Some great laugh-out-loud moments, and more fun to watch than a lot of the professional studio-produced animation I’ve seen in recent years. I hope we’ll see more from you in the near future.
Hey, glad you enjoyed! Reactions to that one are varied, but all in all I think it’s just a silly, innocent holiday cartoon to share with others. And I fully agree, Cole was a marvelous singer who made a magic song even more magical.
Whether or not I get back/further into animation is hard to say for now, but I certainly wouldn’t mind giving that industry another try. Who knows, maybe there’s a show that the masses out there are clamoring to see…or maybe I’ll pitch SCAPULA to the studios and get thrown out the door!
Merry Christmas, Hoomi!
I think if Sam could see that her lady-bits would explode. Never let her in there. I need her. 😀
Whoa! Well, maybe if you’ve been a good kid Santa will deliver a couple of duplicate Jeminis, but I doubt they would be so obliging!
Nope. I keep being rotten hoping he’ll bring me Sam. 😀
And besides. Two heads? Means twice the nagging. I don’t need that. :p
Merry Christmas to you as well, Aidan!
On the strip: I guess that’s why Mira is the scientist and Jem is the crime boss.
Merry Christmas, Abel! Thank you for always leaving those comments!
Science and business…how different is one from the other? I’ll let you decide while I go watch a holiday special: the Mystery Science Theater 3000 viewing of ‘Santa Claus’.
Roomful of Jemini… … OMG… … orgy time?
Hey! Now THAT’S the Christmas spirit!
Merry Christmas! 🙂
…and to you as well, Coffee Biscuit! Happy Holidays!
Surprised to see Knuckles Sam cooperating with the cops. Probably too crushed to remember to be indignant – though with a criminal record likely a mile long, she might be out of the picture for a while, even if they do decide she had nothing to do with the hit-and-run. In a way, it was probably a mercy she never knew what Jem-clone really thought of her…ah, young love.
Gotta say though, it was convenient for the real Jemini. as long as she never comes into the public eye, she should be able to stump alomst every other crime lord in the city, though that edge would likely vanish if she ever utilized that army of clones. It seems she has to pick one advantage or the other.
Merry Christmas to you, Aidan. And keep up the good work. Cant wait to see the double next week.
It’s a risky operation, but Jemini’s a smart cookie (for the most part). She’ll have to play this carefully, but…well, I’m getting ahead of myself. We’ll see what the Jeminis are up to next year.
A great big Merry Christmas wish to you, too, Treike! Thank you for following along and reading these insane stories, and hope that all goes well for you this holiday season…or at least better than Knuckle Sam. She’s going to be a very sad gal this Christmas….
Merry Festivus! Death to all Memes!
Thanks for the holiday cheer, John! We shall celebrate the destruction of all memes by euthanizing that frowning cat!
Pity we didn’t know about these earlier – I would’ve ordered one in time for Christmas delivery.
The Jemini duplicates or the merchandise in the SCAPULA Store?
The former – while thematic merchandise is nice, too, posters and t-shirts don’t really compare to having your own cloned two-headed evil girlfriend.
I hear that. Maybe next year the Store will carry something along those lines…
A belated Merry Ho Ho to you, Dada… and your comments are heartfelt and well said. I wish you the very best in the coming year. 2013… Jemini dolls, mass produced in a small foreign country elsewhere… yes, I can see it now.
Jemini dolls would be adorable! Not a lot of webcomics have dolls of their characters (a few, I suppose, which is fine if you like mustachioed cactus dolls), so maybe some day I will sell out and everyone can take home an adorable two-headed girl doll. Hell, I would buy one!
Just for giggles and grins, you could find out how much RealDoll would charge for a Jemini … ::snicker::
A Jemini Doll? Sign me up!
A Jemini RealDoll? … no comment.
…okay, sign me up for that one too.
Belated Merry Christmas. 🙂
It’s great attention to detail and plot, like poor Sam not having moved from her spot, that keeps me coming back to your comic.
Happy Belated Christmas to you too, GBeans!
Glad you like the small details; things like that make me feel better that readers focus on the good things instead of all the stupid stuff!
Don’t worry, we focus on both! The big stupid stuff gets us the laughs, and the little smart details gets us to thinking.
The “South Park” mode of storytelling works!
I’m still working on catching up. I can’t remember where I left off, so I’m not sure if got this far before. But I don’t remember lots of Jemini duplicates, so maybe?
I’m not sure a bunch of Jemini duplicates is a good idea. What if the duplicates decide to “replace” the original Jemini? Who would know the difference?
