GANGWAY pt.16
Inspector Farley and the Dugong, like Throgor and Babirus, are part of those breed of wonderfully disgusting characters who are so much fun to draw. Unlike drawing pretty girls and chiseled faces, grotesques allow much more room for caricature and creativity, resulting in some hilarious expressions.
…and who would have suspected that the blonde countess was actually Jemini?
Scapula’s dapper outfit was originally a modest dark gray. I decided that Scapula needs to look stupid at ALL times, even when incogntito, and thus recolored him in the cringingly-saturated lime green suit he probably swiped from the local Goodwill.
Be careful with that suit or scapula might be mistaken for “The Mask”
“Jealousy over your gang’s superior members…”
Just how exactly should that be interpreted?
Do we want to know when Farley became so familiar with the gang’s superior members?
@Bearman I thought the Mask wore yellow. Hey, get him a bong and he’ll be…well, you know.
@Hoomi There’s many many uses for a corpse, namely taking advantage of the carpool lane. Plus it goes without saying that guys who dress up like monsters are the manliest of men.
Every person in this comic had the greatest expressions on their faces! I really felt their rage/pain.
And I love both expressions on Jemini in the fifth panel!
Panel two, first thought was “STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM!”
@George Glad you enjoy the sights of all these weird, goofy, grotesque mugs! It’s a strange world, ain’t it?
@Monochromalapin Cops would NEVER call a criminal “scum”! That’s just hurtful and offensive!
That second panel is killer – nice, nice job!
@Dan Many thanks, Dan! I didn’t think anyone would enjoy seeing Inspector Farley that close. Guess I’m not the only one who appreciates grotesques.
Lime green suits look stupid?! OH SNAP – I mean … ummmm … of course they do! I knew that! Really I did! Honest! 🙂
@SpilledInky Well, they look a lot better when you SPILL INK ALL OVER THEM! Hoo-Rah!
Talk about a great profiler, to be able to get down an accusation that well thought out! And to agree with pretty much everybody else, the angles and expressions you captured in this one is just awesome.
@Roland Thank you very much, sir! As for the good Inspector’s accusation…well, it doesn’t take much imagination to insult a person’s libido (if you’re mean enough about it!).
