SINISTER MONSTER DOOM LEGION pt.14
Well first off, how did everyone like the “SICKO SIX” cartoon? Wow…really? Well, it wasn’t like ‘Plan 9 from Outer Space’ or ‘Gigli’, was it?
The theatre is playing the 1931 version of “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” which, in my own humble monster-movie-fan opinion, is the best film version of the Stevenson tale (and notice how I not-so-subtly reference this movie in a story about a split-personality villain…sneaky, ain’t I?).
Darkevillhelldeath-Man’s collection of hostages includes some familiar faces: Officer Mittenscarf (from The Neglected One), Mona Naware (from The Sicko Six), and Christie McGoff, the delusional and perky heroine of my previous webcomic series DADA HYENA. I’m sure you can all guess for yourselves the identity of the “missing guest”.
Looking good so far. I’ve also found that adjusting the JPG encoding settings can help out. I had problems with reds until I changed the subsampling to “1×1, 1×1, 1×1” in Gimp.
Alright man let me make a wild guess. All this chicks packed together have 1 thing in common; they all rejected Scap at some point of his life. If that’s the case I have to say I expected more of them. Anyway, now the sockpuppet is going to…prove his independence by killing Scap right?
I think I got a thing for every single hostage you have in that panel. 🙂 Nicely rendered.
I’ve been spreading the word about your vids all on my Facebook. They are awesome!
@StrRedWolf Nice to meetcha, and thank you for the suggestion! Now I just need to adjust the settings so the characters don’t look so damned goofy…oh, wait, that’s my fault.
@montecristo You’re halfway there (and yes, there would be a LOT more, but do you know how long it would take to track down every girl you’ve ever been interested in?…I mean, besides Facebook stalking).
But how is Darkevillhelldeath-Man going to get rid of Scap?
@George That was the plan, George man! Plus big thanks for promoting the Scapula Flash cartoons. I’m really hoping they’ll draw in more readers.
That babysiter is going to have to work some overtime. 🙂
@Goeber Hey, look who’s back! The babysitter is going to be there a while…probably sleeping off all the scotch!
Animated toons were great (though some of the screams pierced my eardrums haha).
Fonts with the pngs look much better and I don’t think I have to go to the eye doctor anymore.
Hey, it looks like the comics are originally 800×1212, but on the site they’re scaled down to 780×1182. This usually leads to everything becoming slightly blurry, hence hard-to-read text.
@Bearman Glad you enjoyed! I’ll have to put a disclaimer on the shows, reading, “WARNING: Please turn down your volume, the screams in this cartoon are of a ‘Sister Mary Elephant’ level”.
@speearr Hmmm….interesting. I’ll have to look into that. Thank you very much for the info, O Computer Wizard!
I really enjoyed your animated series as well, D.H. – your work is so impressive it’s … ShOcKiNg! *BZAAAAAKT* 🙂
You scream like a girl Aiden! My ears bled for hours after watching those animated shorts. By the third one, I had to have someone sign it to me! o.O (I’m lying out my arse, well done!) *smirk*
All you need to do is to go into your website’s css (style sheet), look for the following section:
==================================
/* THE PAGE WRAPPER */
#page {
width: 780px;
margin: 0px auto;
background-color: white;
}
============================
And change the 780px to 800px. A real quick fix =)
@SpilledInky Awesome! Glad you enjoyed! As for the “shocking” part, well…at least no one ended up getting the “shocker”, if you get my drift…moving right along…
@jynksie The next one will be done using morse code and semaphore, to protect your sensitive ear drums. I’m nothing if not flexible!
@speearr Done and done! Thanks a million, man! To everyone who had been straining your peepers trying to read this comic, give a big round of applause to Terence N. Tijuana (and my sloppy syntax)!
Aidan, your videos are awesome. Well done. Like many others have mentioned the sound of the screams was ear-piercing. The reason for that is that when you get very loud and high pitched sounds too close to the mic, it overloads it and there is a lot of clipping. If you watch music videos where singers are screaming, notice how they pull the mic far away from thier mouths when they scream. You still get the volume and distortion, but not the ear-shredding clipping. Other than that, all the voice-overs were extremely well done. You did a great job translating that static (if you can call any comic you do static lol ) comic pages into a dynamic animation. Can’t wait for your next one.
@Jande I’m going to be honest with everyone: those screams were loud on purpose. It just wasn’t funny listening to screams that were muted (or, even worse, if I had just faked a scream by going, “AAAAAH” in a normal speaking voice). Listen to Mel Blanc on some of those old WB cartoons; he’s really yelling his head off (“The Dover Boys of Pimento University” has Blanc’s best role, Dan Backslide, pretty much screaming through the entire show). I could have lowered the pitch on the audio clips if I had wanted to, but it just didn’t feel right. Sorry to everyone if I shredded your speakers or ear canals, but it’s all for the sake of humor.
The possibility of a second show is there, but it all depends on whether or not the vids are getting hits and attracting viewers to come read this comic. I’ll have to check the stats again.
